EAT upholds narrow reading of reasonable-adjustments finding in Steedman

The Employment Appeal Tribunal dismissed Karen Steedman’s appeal in Steedman v East Lothian Council [2026] EAT 142, upholding a remitted tribunal’s narrow reading of an earlier reasonable-adjustments finding and a compensation award with no financial-loss element, Solicitors Journal reported on September 24, 2026. Lady Poole held the second tribunal could interpret the first decision’s adjustment as a time-limited internal team transfer and found no error on remedy.
