FCC sets Oct. 15 effective date for revised network-change disclosure rules
The FCC's Wireline Competition Bureau announced at 91 FR 62334 on Oct. 1, 2026, that OMB approved the information collections in Report and Order FCC 26-19, so the revised network-change disclosure and service-discontinuance rules in 47 CFR parts 51 and 63 take effect Oct. 15, 2026. From then, incumbent local exchange carriers no longer file network-change disclosures with the FCC and instead give notice through publicly accessible methods.
