Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 1267, authored by Assemblymember Gail Pellerin (D-Santa Cruz), on September 30, 2026 (Chapter 850, Statutes of 2026). From January 1, 2027, no one under 18 may be issued a marriage license or establish a domestic partnership in California.
