California requires mobilehome parks to specify rule violations in tenancy-termination notices
Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 1817 (Chapter 793, Statutes of 2026) on September 29, 2026, amending Civil Code section 798.56. Mobilehome park management seeking to end a tenancy for a rule violation must serve written notice reciting each rule allegedly violated, specific facts on the date, place or circumstances of the violation, and the action required to comply. The homeowner has seven days to comply, and management keeps the burden of proving the violation.
