Microsoft launches Copilot for Legal with more than 20 legal skills in Word and Cowork

Microsoft launched Copilot for Legal on October 15, 2026, adding more than 20 legal-specific skills to Microsoft Copilot for contract review, drafting, obligations tracking and case chronologies in Word and its agentic Cowork workspace. Plugins from more than two dozen legal technology partners, including Harvey, Legora, iManage and Relativity, begin rolling out through Microsoft's plugin registry.

Litera has promoted Priyanka Singh, formerly EVP of operations and CFO, to president overseeing company-wide operations and execution, and expanded Chief Product Officer Adam Ryan's role to chief product and marketing officer. Litera brings Foundation Firm AI Search into ChatGPT Enterprise

Litera on September 17, 2026 made Foundation Firm AI Search available as a ChatGPT Enterprise plugin for eligible Foundation Cloud customers, letting lawyers query firm experience, relationships, and expertise with natural-language prompts grounded in permissioned Foundation records. LawFuel and LawSites reported the plugin; Litera said Foundation is already used by more than 300 law firms.
